π The Good News & Wins
- The Home is Safe for the moment: Thanks to the funds trickling in, their home will not be foreclosed at the moment! This is a massive weight off everyone's shoulders.
- AC is Fixed: A wonderful team from the NLC Church (South End) stepped up and sent out an AC company to completely service and fix their air conditioning system.
π A Huge Thank You to NLC Church
The NLC team completely exhausted their entire $1,000 community help budget just to get the air conditioning running for her. We are profoundly grateful for their rapid action and incredible generosity.
β οΈ Immediate & Urgent Needs: We Still Need the Community's Help
While NLC did a beautiful thing, their budget is now maxed out, and no other churches or organizations have stepped up yet. Please help spread the news.Β We are still dealing with a few critical safety hazards:
- Urgent Yard Work: The yard is severely overgrown. NLC is currently looking for volunteers to help mow the grass. If you or anyone you know has a lawnmower and a few hours to spare, please reach out!
- The Walkway Hazard (Critical Safety Issue): This is our biggest fear right now. The walkway is incredibly narrow with a steep drop-off edge. Every single time we take her out for a doctorβs appointment, we are terrified of making a mistake and having her wheelchair topple over the edge. A fall like that would cause her to break her hip again or cause worse injuries, severely setting back her progress.
Our Current Request: We have officially asked the church if anyone can help widen the walkway or build a safety barrier, and we are currently waiting to hear back.
