Brent tolerated treatment #4 as well as could be expected and was feeling good during his "off week".  We arrived at treatment #5 today and were able to meet with his oncologist instead of his PA which was a blessing.  Dr. French is great- he listens, explains everything, gives his reasoning, and truly cares about Brent.  He told us that Brent's platelets and liver numbers were off this week.  As you know, Brent had high liver numbers when he started treatment and unfortunately they were high again today.  This was disappointing as they had been trending steadily down until today.  His platelets had also dropped pretty drastically.  He explained that these numbers are showing us that his body is not liking the chemo, and not reacting to it and recovering as well as they'd like.  Due to these changes Dr. French decided to dose reduce from 90% down to 70%.  He also explained he would much rather dose reduce than skip/push a treatment.  So we are thankful that he is able to receive treatment #5 and get one step closer to ringing that bell.

We thank you all again for your continued prayers and support for our family.  This is not an easy road for anyone so we appreciate you keeping us all in your prayers.  Our specific prayer requests this week are:

*That Brent tolerates this dose reduced chemo with minimal side effects
*That Brent's platelets are able to rebound over the next 2 weeks prior to treatment #6
*That Brent's liver numbers even out and get closer to normal
*That the chemo is doing it's job and Brent be cancer free
*Please pray for Ella as she prepares to leave for her first year of college
*Please pray for Wyatt as he starts middle school next week
*Please pray for Cora as she has her high school retreat and starts her junior year of high school

I've had a number of people ask about the meal train, we are working on updating with the school year approaching.  We should have it updated soon! As always we thank you all for the generosity you've shown us. Food and groceries have been a stressful part of this journey and the grocery giftcards and thoughtful meals have been such a blessing.
