Today is Day 1 of 2 of this round of chemo for Bentley.

There is something strangely comforting about seeing him sitting in a hospital bed, surrounded by IV poles and medical equipment, and still being a teenager who just wants a good burger. πŸ’™

Today he was able to eat, and seeing him actually enjoy his food made all of us happy. We’ve learned very quickly to appreciate these moments because with chemo, the good days and good hours can change so quickly.

His mom continues to be right beside him through all of it. These treatment days are long, exhausting, and emotionally heavy, and so much of this falls on her shoulders. We wish we could physically be there to help carry more of that load.

We also want to recognize Matt, Bentley’s stepdad, who has been wonderful throughout this journey. His love and support for both Bentley and his mom have meant more than we can put into words.

Tomorrow they do it again for Day 2.

For today, though, we’re holding onto this little win: Bentley ate. Bentley smiled. And for a little while, things felt almost normal.

Thank you to everyone who continues to follow Bentley’s journey, send messages, share his story, help with meals and expenses, purchase something from his wish list, or contribute to his SupportNow fund. Every bit of support helps this family focus on what matters most right nowβ€”getting Bentley through treatment and back to being a kid.

πŸ’™ One day, one treatment, one good moment at a time.
