What’s going on with Benny lately? 🐝

We have been go, go, go since Benny’s first round of stem cells working hard to activate as many of those cells as possible.

Since stem cells we have already seen some really encouraging things:
• We were able to remove gabapentin
• Benny has been having regular bowel movements
• He has said two words
• He’s starting to show cause and effect
• And he’s moving his arms and legs more
  • when I him sometimes he will gently try to grip on with one hand

Every little step matters, and we celebrate them all.

Last week and this week we’ve been hitting HBOT hard to help open up those brain pathways before we head to Arizona for PRP. The hope is that it helps boost the stem cells that may have gone dormant and continues encouraging healing and new connections in Benny’s brain.

I’m also hopeful to hear the doctor’s thoughts on where Benny is developmentally and if there are additional things we can try — especially in hopes of avoiding surgery on his hips, since both of Benny’s hips are currently dislocated.

A few weeks ago we also got a call about an opening for On The Fly DMI in Kansas City in April, and we knew we had to jump on it. Then we’ll be heading back to Indiana for Beelievability in May for another intensive.

After that, I’m hoping to really soak up summer with my girls and just maintain Benny’s weekly therapies for a bit. I’m sure we’ll likely be encouraged to pursue another round of stem cells around August as well. Thankfully this second trip is covered in what we already paid for our first round of cells, but if we pursue another round in the future we will need to fund that next step.

And truly none of this would be possible without the people God has placed in our lives.

Travis works full time to provide a roof over our heads and safe vehicles to get our family where we need to go. I do my best running my businesses so we can meet our day-to-day needs and continue caring for our family. Benny’s therapies take up a lot of our time going back and forth, but seeing the progress reminds us that every bit of effort is worth itbecause he deserves the very best life possible.

The therapies, treatments, and intensives helping Benny grow stronger are things insurance simply doesn’t cover.

Yet time and time again, God continues to provide through this incredible community.

Through prayers.
Through encouragement.
Through generosity.
Through people simply caring about our sweet boy.

We don’t take a single bit of that for granted. We are so hopeful and expectant to see what God continues to do through these stem cells and therapies as Benny keeps working so hard.

Thank you for being part of Benny’s story and helping us continue fighting for the life he deserves.

Our mighty God is so good. 🐝💛

I'm amazed at what you are able to accomplish. I know God's hand is guiding you, your family, and Benny through this. I'm still praying for Benny to continue to heal and show improvements. God made Benny so we know he has plans for him and loves him. God also sees you giving it everything you have!
