August 9: 🌅 A Little More Encouragement Today

Mom seems to be the most communicative in the mornings. Her conversations still aren’t consistent, but we’re grateful for every moment of clarity, every word, and every sign of progress! We’re choosing to celebrate the small victories while believing God for the BIG one. 🙏🏽❤️

Her nurse shared some encouraging updates today:
 • Her white blood cell count looks good.
 • Hemoglobin is 9.4.
• Her calcium is down to 11.3 after four doses of Calcitonin.



It hit me this morning that God is the realest Realist I know. 🙌🏽

Doctors are trying to be “realistic,” but God is like, “did you forget who I AM?” 😭

Then a man at church walks past me wearing a shirt that says:

“EXPECT MIRACLES.”

OH. OKAY. MESSAGE RECEIVED! 👀🙌🏽

And YUP… I DO.

I’m expecting miracles in every area of my life. I’m expecting God-sized things, impossible things, only-God-could-have-done-that things.

And yes, that includes EVERYTHING pertaining to my Mom, Barbara Gibbs-Hodge ❤️‍🩹

I’m believing God for her complete and total healing, restoration, strength, and recovery. Not because I’m ignoring reality—but because I know the God who is greater than my reality.

Faith doesn’t deny what’s happening. Faith declares that what’s happening is NOT bigger than God.

So excuse me while I keep expecting.
Keep believing.
Keep praying.
Keep praising.

Because God is still God. And He still does miracles. 🙌🏽🔥
