Mom is more lucid today and talking slightly. She is still kind of sleepy, but her calcium levels are trending in the right direction! In speaking with her doctor today, they are going to place a nasogastric feeding tube to see if that helps to further improve her strength, her mental state, and resume giving her the nutrients that she’s been lacking recently. Speech is going to continue working with her and will evaluate her ability to swallow and see if she can begin eating regular food again. Then conversation about her being discharged to a rehab facility will begin.
If you've asked how you can help, our greatest needs right now are continued prayers, dinners, and assistance with the costs and services involved in moving out of our home and in with Mom so we can provide her with around-the-clock care. Between work and long evenings at the hospital, preparing meals has become a challenge. Every prayer, text, call, meal, and act of kindness means more than we can express. Your love and support are carrying us through this difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️
