Today, we received an official diagnosis of cortical vision impairment (CVI). This is when a child has structurally everything they need as far as their eyes but the way the brain processes what they see is off. It’s different per child. However, imagine Swiss cheese slices stacked on each other and it’s almost like trying to perfectly see through a hole. 

After her official diagnosis we did discover that Avery is near sighted. When the ophthalmologist used different lenses Avery’s ability to focus more was enhanced. Ta da! She is near sighted! We are so thrilled for some positive news. Our hopes are with glasses that it will help her vision and in turn her coordination . We will go this Friday to get her frames for her glasses. 

Furthermore , stem cell is known to enhance vision. We are finally on the up and up with positive news rolling in. Today, was a good baseline in my opinion to see where she is after stem cell for vision. 


Side note: For those that know me well you know my father recently passed away from a sudden and massive heart attack. On the way to her appointment this morning a cardinal flew right in front of my car. I was so anxious on the way to her appointment but I know in my heart this was a sign from my dad and God that our miracles are coming. If you knew my dad personally you know he was a businessman. I have without a shadow of doubt the second he got to those Golden Gates he has been in God’s ear to heal Avery from head to toe. So, thank you Dad and thank you , God!
