Asher Blue
Asher had a rough night last night. He was up for hours storming. Since he is trached, it makes everything echo and his hyperventilation was extremely loud. No one got any rest expect the baby.
We need prayers for continued provision. While ABBA has provided lodging and funds for Asher’s HBOT, we have yet to get insurance to approve any supplies or equipment. This means everything Asher needs on a day to day basis is coming out of our pockets-syringes, trach supplies, feed tubing, etc. It’s very costly and is making a hard hit on our finances. Some items we are not able to find at all so we are re-using and re-using what we have well past the point of when it should be discarded. We don’t have a way to monitor his oxygen at night right now because the oximeter they gave us has weird connections and we can’t order the sensors anywhere. I ordered a different kind of pulse ox, but we are waiting for it to arrive.
We finally got our pictures of Asher up in the room and I look at them and it’s almost like I don’t remember who he is. It’s been so long since I’ve seen him smile or heard him laugh, talk. I look at my little boy right now and that is not my Asher, not the one we know. I feel guilty for thinking that.
They increased Asher’s HBOT pressure today to 1.3 from 1.15. I noticed immediately after that his pupils were smaller, not so dilated looking. We also had another call with Dr Lucas for Neuro-rehab. Our Saebo finally arrived after having been back ordered for a month so we put that into action. We were able to achieve contraction on different body parts with relatively low numbers compared to a lot of the kids she said she treats that max out on the settings and still don’t have contraction response. This means his brain and body are talking! Praise Yah!
Tonight is taco night at RMHCSLA for Cinco de Mayo and I’m honestly really looking forward to the tacos lol.
We still don’t know how many dives we’ll be doing here yet. But we are trying to get to AZ when we finish up here and then head to an intensive with Dr Lucas. Those two will run right over $20k not including travel and lodging expenses. We also need to figure out how to get a home chamber as well-those run around $15k. MNRI will travel to us when we get home. Idk what that cost will be yet. Be in prayer for open doors. ABBA has made a way this far. Keep praying for miraculous healing for our sweet boy.
