Amanda Paul & Family
Hello friends and family and friends that are like family.
I know it has been awhile since an update and figured it was time.
I had treatment number #15 yesterday. All my labs were great. Blood sugar is up a little - but the treatment and other meds are known for that so there is no concern at this time. I am trying to be careful with diet so as not to make that a lasting problem. Iron is down a little but not in a danger zone. And that too - they say - is from treatment and is unavoidable for now.
I have been tolerating the bone marrow boosting injection each treatment cycle very well compared to the first 12 weeks. The one I get now is more of an extended release. It does cause some pain in my head and the rest of my bones but I am able to move and behave normally so I am extremely grateful.
All the prayers and support have really carried us. I know I say that a lot and it starts to sound trite but it definitely is not minimized in our hearts and minds. We fell humbled and very grateful for all the prayers and acts of love towards our family.
Life moves on. Cancer does not automatically put a halt on that. Parenting keeps going. Routines, rhythms. It all keeps going. We are in a season of bombardment of all the things. And a lot of hard things all around. We NEED those prayers. Even for the unspoken needs.
On a postive, I only have one more chemo scheduled for September 29th and then I get another MRI to use as a comparison to the original one in April. And then I meet with the surgeon to decide on and schedule a mastectomy.
And then the holidays will be upon us. Once I am apprised of what my limitations will be post-surgery I will update the calendar here with any new needs.
Thank you all for your love,
Amanda
