Week 1 is over-and we are looking forward to a weekend of some exploring and hopefully a little rest. Aila did well last week-they are trying some new things which has been cool to see. Aila has required some adjustment and hasn’t been the happiest about the work she’s doing and did have a bit of a rough day Wednesday. She was really tired so we took a break from her first session. Every day she has three hours of therapy in a row with brief 10 minute breaks in between.

Everyone else is slowly adjusting to having to do schoolwork while not at school. It’s been a bit if a struggle to motivate them all. Hopefully some fun this weekend will show them what we can make time for if we are efficient with getting our work done! Thursday we had the chance to check out a museum near where we are staying and Aila was much happier that day and all smiles spending some time outside-it was a beautiful day. It’s been hotter than expected this first week.

This weekend we are spending some time in Colorado Springs. We are currently on our way to the top of Pikes Peak. Kids are excited, hopefully Aila manages alright and my anxiety about mountain driving (Kyle is driving but I still get nervous hahaha) stays in check. We also plan to check out the Manitou Cliff Dwellings and a ghost town museum the kids want to go to. It’ll be a busy weekend!

We had the chance to spend time with some of our closest friends from back home who were in Denver for the week. We missed the rest of their family that was still back in IL 🩷- it was really fun and nice to have some familiar faces in our lives the first week here though!

Those are some highlights from our first week here-thank you to everyone who has checked in and sent their love our way.
