Hello everyone! 
I wanted to share a few exciting things that have happened with Aden recently. As most of you know, Aden has moved from the vegetative state to the minimally conscious state. How exciting! Aden can now squeeze your hands, blink to communicate and move his mouth when asked to talk. 

Another exciting thing that has happened is I was given the okay to start introducing soft foods to Aden. This is in hopes of him learning to move his mouth and tongue to eat again. We’ve introduced pudding, jello, mashed potatoes, popsicles, ice cream and baby food. Currently, Aden’s favorite is any type of sweet tasting baby food. He chomps his mouth until the baby food gets to the back of his tongue and then he swallows it right down. He’s been doing very well with eating. He is also able to have small sips of water or juice. 

We had a little bit of a scare two nights ago, and we ended up in the ER at Children’s Hospital. It was time to change Aden’s g-tube, but when I went to put the new tube in, it wouldn’t go in. Thankfully, the physician in the ER was able to put the tube back in without any complications, and we were able to come back home.
